Almonds are native to the middle East and Central Asia but they have been cultivated in India for centuries. It is an important part of Indian culture. The earliest evidence of almonds in India is from the Indus valley civilization from 3300 to 1300 BCE. Almonds were also mentioned in the Vedas the sacred text of Hinduism. Almonds originated in the Western parts of Asia and China and were most likely cultivated there all though the exact place of domestication is lost in time scientist have been able to point to Western Asia as the most likely place they were first grown. Even now in modern day Iran and neighbouring countries while almonds are native and still grow there experts think that almonds were one of the first trees domesticated because cultivated almonds appeared during the early bronze age in numeria in Jordan. It is also mentioned in the Bible and were even found in Tutankhamen's tomb in Egypt. 

There are two types of almonds number one is sweet almonds and second is Bitter almonds, Bitter almonds are naturally toxic having high amounts of cyanide. sweet almonds have virtually no cyanide and are perfectly safe to eat. As there are both sweet and bitter cultivars of almonds ,historian believe that because the mutation for sweet almonds is relatively common among bitter almonds,early farmers realised that these trees provided safe,detectable treats.Those ancients who ate wild almonds most likely roasted and leached them to remove any lingering toxicity, since that time people have enjoyed roasted sweet almonds even though they are delicious and perfectly safe to eat raw almonds.

Where almonds grown?

Almonds are grown in many countries like United States,Spain Italy,France and in India.

In India Jammu and Kashmir is the largest producer of almonds,this state has the availability of climate favourable for the production of almonds on a large scale.

Nutritional value of almonds-
 
One ounce provides about 165 calories, 6 grams protein,14 grams fat 80% monounsaturated, 15% polyunsaturated and 5% saturated 6 grams carbohydrates and 3 grams fibre. Almonds are rich in protein, fibre,vitamin E, calcium, magnesium copper and riboflavin. Almonds are also a rich source of iron, potassium, zinc and vitamins B. Almonds deliver a massive amount of nutrients. Almonds are loaded with essential nutrients that contribute to over all well being. It's nutritional value is impressive with a perfect balance of healthy,fats,protein,fibre, vitamins and minerals. Almonds must have in our diet.

Almonds are also used to produce products like almond milk, oil butter, flower, paste or marzipan etc. almonds are sold either raw or roasted. Almonds are our health is neck that can be eaten raw or roasted. Almonds are used in many dishes. Almonds helps with weight management it also help to control blood sugar levels and improve bone health or boost brain function and almonds support the immune system also and it aid in digestive health and boosting energy as well as promote healthy skin.

As Almonds are a very good source of vitamin E magnesium,manganese, fibre ,copper Phosphorus and riboflavin. Almonds may help meet the recommended daily magnesium intake which may have positive effects on your health. Almonds can be eaten as a raw form or socked or powdered form.


Conclusion-we easily understand that almond nuts are very useful for our health. It boost our energy level. It is very good in taste. It is very healthy. We may use in our regular food item. It give us so many nutrients which is very good for our health purpose.
