Cashew nut is a kind of dry fruit,it is made up of a fruit in which the kernel is embedded.The real fruit of the cashew is a nut.It is a kidney or heart shaped achene,in any normal variety.the of cashew varies from bottle green to grayish brown.It is attached to the end of a fleshy footstalk or peduncle,which is in fact the receptacle of the flower,that is broadened and swollen and forms the false fruit.The nut is composed of kernel and pericarp or shell.The kernel slightly curved back on itself and forms two cotyledons, representing about 20-25% of the nuts weight.It is wrapped in a thin, difficult to remove peel,reddish brown membrane, which is turn approximate to 5% of the whole nut parts.cashew nut ,native to Brazil ,it was introduced about teo centuries ago to the Goa region of India, which became a major region of producing cashew nuts.operations involved in the processing of cashew kernels are basically cooking, drying, cutting,decortication,peeling, classification, frying,in the case of roasted almonds,and packaging.The cashew is globally one of the most popular tree nuts and it is eaten as a snack or incorporated as an ingredient in a variety of foods.cashew kernel can be roasted and consumed,it is also used in the standard milk chocolate recipes.It is very good in taste.
               The cashew apple is used in beverages,jams,and jellies, through most cultivation is directed toward production of the valuable seed crop.
It's scientific name is Anacardium Occidental. It is an attractive evergreen,erect,low branching tree 4-16 m tall with a smooth bark and a spreading canopy that can be as wide as it is tall.

What is the economic importance of cashew?

It is said to contribute to global economic growth just because it's components have numerous uses.It provide food,job and foreign exchange.It is also used in industrial applications.

Uses of Cashew Nuts :-

Strengthening Bones

Cashew nuts contains copper and magnesium which is very helpful in joints flexible and form bones.

Boosting our Immunity 
 
As cashew nuts are rich in zinc so it is very helpful in cell growth and regulation 
 
Healthier Eyesight 

Vitamin A,K and E are rich found in Cashew Nuts which are important for vision.It also contain antioxidant which enhances our vision.

Good for Skin

Cashew nuts are rich in vitamin E, magnesium,zinc,iron,and copper which helps to prevent premature aging and also give you glowing skin.


Heart health 

As cashew are high in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats which can lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and raise good cholesterol (HDL),It also reduced the risk of stroke and heart disease.

Bone Health 

Cashew nuts contains magnesium, phosphorus and vitamin K which are very important for bone Health.

Uses of cashew nuts 

Cashews are commonly used in South Asian cuisine, hole for garnishing sweets or curries or ground into a paste that forms are base of sauces for curries. It is commonly used for making some sweets like kaju barfi, it is also used in powdered form in the preparation of several Indian sweets and deserts. Cashews are also used in Thai and Chinese cuisines. Cashew nuts are rich in magnesium, which helps in calcium absorption and bone mineral density. It also help to reduce the risk of fractures and osteoporosis

Cashew is used for diabetes high cholesterol high disease stomach and intestinal (gastro intestinal) ailments ,skin problems and other conditions

How does cashew work? 

Cashew contains chemicals that might work against certain bacteria. There are some of the fats in cashew available which helps to lower cholestrol levels in the blood.

Side effects of cashew nuts 

Some people are allergic to Cashew. Cashew nuts may also cause bloating ,constipation weight gain and joint swelling in some people, but these side effects are rare. If the  un roasted cashew is used it might cause skin irritation redness and blisters.

Diabetes 

Eating a large amount of cashew may increase blood sugar levels. But not all research agrees. If diabetic patient use cashew be sure to monitor their blood sugar carefully.

Is Cashew good for sperm count? 

Cashew can be good for sperm count as they contain zinc which is important for sperm production. It also contain some other nutrients that may help with sperm health. Cashew contain zinc which is required for sperm maturation mortality and testosterone production. Cashew also contain Omega 3 fatty acid which may help improve sperm quality. Cashews are rich in fibre which may help keep the digestive system healthy.

What are the benefits of eating cashews? 

As cashews are very rich in fibre,protein and healthy fats. Cashew also contain a variety of vitamins minerals and health protective beneficial plant compounds. It also promote weight loss blood sugar control and heart health.

How many cashews can I eat a day?

You may eat 15 to 18 medium sized cashew per day, but it depends on your age ,activity level diet and health goals.

Cashew commercially cultivated mainly in Brazil and India. Cashew seeds rich in oil and distinctively flavoured are commonly used in south and Southeast Asian cuisine and are characteristics ingredient of numerous chicken and vegetarian dishes of Southern India.

Cashews are really good for hair growth as they are loaded with some essential nutrients like proteins ,zinc,magnesium,iron and many more. These all nutrients are very highly essential for hair growth. Our body starts producing keratin when we eat cashew , which is an essential protein for healthy and strong hair growth.

What are the industrial uses of cashews? 

Cashew nut husk is used in emerging industrial applications, such as an absorbent, composites ,biopolymers,dies and enzyme synthesis.

Where are cashew nuts commonly used for? 

Cashew nuts are commonly eaten as food. People also use the nut to make medicine. It is used for diabetes,high cholesterol heart disease stomach and intestinal ailments, skin problems and other conditions.
